Franc D’Ambrosio’s Debut of New Musical in London Postponed Due to Covid

Franc D’Ambrosio was cast in the role of “Pluto” in the world premiere of ORFEUS: A House Music Opera! at The Young Vic Theatre in London.  Rehearsals began March 1, 2020 for this unique production, set in the near future and blurring the lines of opera, house music and theatre in a timeless version of Ovid’s legend.  Directed by Charles Randolph-Wright with words, music and libretto by award-winning baritone Nmon Ford, the musical was scheduled to run from April 11 – May 30, 2020 but was canceled due to the Covid shutdown.  The show will be rescheduled at a later date.

The Four Phantoms In Concert To Appear at the 2020 Bermuda Music Festival

The Bermuda Festival of the Performing Arts is pleased to announce its theme for the 45th Annual Bermuda Festival, from January 17 – March 14, 2020: “Come Together”. Festival Chairman, David Skinner explained the thinking behind it: “We wanted a theme that would reflect unity and collaboration.In an increasingly polarized world, we recognize the power of the performing arts in bringing people together and we thought this theme would be timely and would convey that message.”

In a golden past on just the right evenings, singer-friends would take turns wrapping their lustrous voices around favorite songs and arias in an alcove of a white-linen restaurant in Milwaukee. Maybe they were still “on” from having just performed in a musical or operetta at a nearby theater. Or maybe they were singing simply for the sheer pleasure and love of it.
